Public Works is responsible for
engineering, transportation,
transit, light rail, trash/recycling, streets maintenance and traffic
operations. Internal functions include custodial, fleet and facilities
management.
Meet the Public Works Manager

Glenn Kephart has been Tempe’s Public Works Manager
since Sept. 2001. Glenn first joined the Tempe in 1999 as the Deputy
Public Works Manager for Transportation. He has more than 20
years of public service experience in the areas of transportation
and public works. Prior to joining Tempe, Glenn worked for the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 14 years. He earned a
bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State
University and is registered as a professional engineer. In
addition, Glenn has a Masters in Public Administration.
Prior to beginning his engineering career, he graduated from
Williamson Trade School and worked as a professional carpenter.
In his free time, Glenn enjoys watching Suns basketball, walking his
dog and spending time with his family.
