Industrial Pretreatment Program

As a industrial/commercial facility you can expect a "walk through" inspection from a member of the Environmental Division.  The purpose of a walk through inspection is a multi-phased approach to determine if your facility will need a discharge permit.  Typically, an investigator will walk through your facility and ask simple questions such as; how much water do you use per day, how much wastewater is discharged to the sewer per day, and review operations conducted on-site.  With this information the investigator will determine if your facility is subject to any local or federal regulations.

If your facility is subject to a local ordinance or federal regulation then you will be asked to complete a Discharge Application and submit it to the Environmental Division for review.  When it is reviewed, your facility will be placed into one of two categories.  These categories are based on standards established by federal guidance and provide the most suitable application to the industrial/commercial community.  There is no charge if a permit is issued to your facility.

If you feel your facility may be subject to a local or federal regulation and have not been visited by the Environmental Division, please telephone (480) 350-2678 or contact us by email.
