Tempe Man arrested for Threatening with a Dangerous Instrument

On November 17, 2008 at 7:40 pm, Daniel J. Dahlstrom (04-02-74) was placed under arrest in the 200 block of East University Dr, Tempe.

Investigation revealed that Dahlstrom entered several business in the area of 7th St and Forest Dr in Tempe.  Dahlstrom was being disorderly and yelling profanities as he walked through the area and in and out of businesses. 

Dahlstrom entered the Islamic Community Center where he uttered profanity and was asked to leave numerous times.  There was no information to indicate that this was a hate crime. 

After leaving the community center, Dahlstrom was in possession of a metal spatula that closely resembled a meat cleaver.  Dahlstrom threatened two people in the area with this dangerous instrument.

Dahlstrom was contacted by Tempe Police Officers and taken in custody.  Dahlstrom was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of criminal trespassing and once count of disorderly conduct.
