The Detention Section of the Patrol Operations Division is responsible for the following:

• Transportation of inmates to and from detention facility

• Processing inmates into the detention facility

• Providing secure housing to inmates while awaiting release or court appearance

• Preservation of welfare and protect the rights of inmates

• Providing a safe and clean environment for inmates

• Providing accurate information to the public

• Escorting inmates to court

• Obtaining inmate photographs and fingerprints

• Monitoring the security of inmates and facility with the assistance of a closed circuit video surveillance system
