Registration
Dates:
Registration for those CURRENTLY enrolled in Kid
Zone:
Saturday, March 1st, 2008 9:00am
to 1:00pm
Registration will begin on Saturday, March
1st for those currently enrolled in the Kid Zone Before and After
School Enrichment Program.
Registration will be closed the week of
March 10 - 14, 2007.
Registration will resume on Monday, March 17th for
those currently enrolled in the
Kid Zone Before and After School Enrichment Program.
Open enrollment for the general
public starts on Saturday, March 22nd 9:00am to 1:00pm
and will continue until program sites are filled.
Program Dates and Schools The
Kid Zone Enrichment Summer Program will run:
May 28th through July 25th.
The Summer Program is open from 6:30 am. to 6.00 p.m.
at following selected school sites in the City of Tempe:
Aguilar, Arredondo, Carminati, Evans, Manitas, Mariposa, Norte, Waggoner***, Ward.
*** Waggoner's last day of Summer Programming is July
18th. Each site will incorporate age-appropriate clubs,
community service projects, nutrition/ fitness education, crafts, sports, games and all the things that make childhood a time full of happy
memories. Kid Zone is offered at a
variety of schools strategically placed throughout the City for
children entering grades 1 through 6 in the fall. Kid Zone provides a safe,
licensed DHS setting, while still providing entertaining
recreational activities. The Summer Program includes
morning and afternoon snacks and formal enrichment instruction in
science, literacy and various skills. Most weeks, participants go swimming and
enjoy a field trip to a variety of locations that are educational and
fun. Holiday
Closure: All Kid Zone sites will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of our Nation's birthday!
Field
Trips Children
will participate in swimming and other various field trips throughout
the summer. School buses are used to transport participants to all
off-site field trips. Buses for field trips leave promptly at the
designed time. Children are required to wear Kid Zone name badges on all
scheduled field trips.
Swimming
and Sun Safety General
recreational swimming is provided at one of the City pools. Children
should have swimming suit, towel, and sunscreen on swimming day. Parents
are encouraged to apply sunscreen to their child before coming to the
site each day. Parents should also provide caps, sunglasses, light
t-shirts and labeled water bottles to protect their children from sun
exposure. We encourage parents to label belongings to
ensure children do not misplace their belongings.
Lunch
& Snack Children are required to
bring a non-perishable lunch and drink everyday. Refrigerators and
microwaves are not available. Lunches can be packed in mini-coolers. Kid
Zone provides a morning and afternoon snack each day. |
